Apple MacBook Pro 2013 (Retina) - 15" Buyer's Guide

Apple kicked off its third generation MacBook Pro (Retina) during the middle of the 2012 model year. The third generation offered many advancements over previous models, such as Intel’s third-generation Core i7 processors (Ivy Bridge), exclusively solid state storage, support for USB 3.0, and the introduction of the high-resolution Retina display. This model’s 15.4-inch IPS screen delivers a whopping 2880x1800 resolution at an incredibly sharp 220 pixels-per-inch. The third-generation MacBook Pro received an update in February 2013 that slightly increased processor speeds and bumped up RAM to 16GB on the high-end model. In October 2013, the MacBook Pro 15” received another update to Intel’s fourth-generation Core i7 processors (Haswell), substantially faster PCIe-based flash storage, and improved WiFi and Thunderbolt 2.0 connectivity.
