Yes, still available in in mint condition!
There was a time where you could purchase an additional two years of support for Apple Care for Macs through the entire year long initial warranty. Sadly this is no longer the case it would appear. Since the advent of Apple Care Plus, the period for adding additional warranty protection via Apple Care is now limited to the first 60 days, which have passed.
The year long Apple Care limited warranty (doesn't include accidents) is good until Dec 26th, 2024.

I did! Two actually. I bought a 15" MacBook Air as I was curious if it would handle my work load given it is much lighter. It has done well and I have some travel coming up this summer so decided to sell the heavier and much more powerful MBP. I will miss the Pro's screen. So no worries, I haven't had any trouble with the MBP at all. The power upgrade for video conversion from my older Intel Mac has been impressive and the thing runs quiet and cool. I also bought a Windows machine for Linux and gaming recently as I wanted to play some newer games and run a Debian Linux box.

Thanks for such a detailed answer! Is it possible you post a photo of the 'about' page with all the ram/memory/processing info etc visible? Also wondering - it looks more of a grey than black - is the color right? The one photo of the opened macbook looks black but the outer photos look grey to my eyes. Thank you.

No worries. Requested photos uploaded. As to the color haha well, let's just say if I worked for Apple's marketing department I would have called Space Black something like 'black of space as illuminated by a nearby dying star.' Depending on the angle of light, the laptop can appear almost black but really is more of a pleasant dark matte gray to my eyes. Apple did do a better job with fingerprint resistance than on earlier Space Grey Macs, but the new color is still far from fingerprint proof. Cheers.
